Marjorie C. (Carson) Freeman
August 4, 1922 -- December 10, 2015
Her husband of 62 years, Merritt K. Freeman passed away on June 9, 2011.
She is survived by a son, Carson Freeman, Telford, PA; a daughter, Christy F., wife of Robert E. Dayhoff, Wernersville; and two grandchildren, Sarah E. Freeman and Brett A. Dayhoff.
Born in Madera, Clearfield County, PA on August 4, 1922 she was the daughter of the late John Orvis and Elizabeth Mae (Alexander) Carson. She was also predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
She was a graduate of Bigler Twp. High School and completed nurses training at the Philipsburg Hospital in Philipsburg, PA.
Marjorie served in the U.S. Army from June of 1945 as a First Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps in Italy until her return to the United States in 1948. She completed active duty service at the Valley Forge General Hospital in Phoenixville and continued employment there as a civilian nurse. She worked as an Occupational Nurse for the United States Postal Service in Philadelphia until retirement in 1987.
She was a member of the Conrad Weiser Chapter No. 449 Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.) and served as Sentinel in 2002-2003; and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at 1:30 PM in Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Inc., 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Benjamin D. Motz and the Rev. George J. Miller officiating.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Heidelberg Cemetery, Robesonia.
